About

We collaborated with DCU and Scoilnet- the Department of Education and Skills(DES) official portal for Irish education- to offer a Women On Walls STEM hub that hosts inspirational primary and secondary school resources to support students and teachers across Ireland. The STEM Hub was inspired by our #WomenOnWalls at DCU chapter which recognises the pioneering achievements of extraordinary women to enhance the visibility of female leaders in STEM and more, by commissioning portraits of them to create a lasting legacy across Ireland. These inspiring portraits are located in DCU and they were revealed to 2021.

The STEM Hub features a variety of resources to promote STEM in the classroom, including experiments, project work, and profiles of women in STEM who are or were pioneers in their area, with information on the innovative work of each scientist accompanied by learning activities and suggestions for career progression in the area. The STEM Hub is accessible via Scoilnet and the resources are available to all. Our hope is that the STEM Hub will contribute greatly to educating young people, particularly girls, on the possibilities of a career in STEM.
